As I so often mention, most of my time is spent down here in Florida as a Tampa and Sarasota wedding photographer, but for some reason New Jersey keeps calling my name back home for weddings. I don’t mind it at all. Seeing my mother and old friends is always nice, and I enjoy the rare time I get to spend with them. Nikki was a family friend of wedding couple Taryn and Jorge, who I photographed last year at The Grove. Both Nikki and Nick are in their early 20’s and though I envy their youth a little, being around them made me feel a little younger. We had a blast during the session, cracking jokes, and making small talk. This kind of lightheartedness always makes for authentic moments between couples. We did a couple of posed looking at the camera shots that the elders and more traditional family members will enjoy, but Nikki and Nick truly embraced my style of trying to capture couples together in their natural elements. Don’t be afraid to be a little silly in front of my lens! I can’t wait for their wedding which is coming up in just a little bit over a month.
