I was introduced by Sarai and Dennis by our mutual friend Ken Fleming who I used work with at Unique Photo in Fairfield, NJ. I always appreciate referrals from friends, as it’s one of the best ways that I am currently building my business! So thanks Ken! You are rad. As someone who travels back and forth between Florida and New Jersey as a wedding photographer, it was nice to get a lead on the west coast, somewhere I don’t get to visit very often. As soon as Sarai described her romantic Napa Valley elopement details to me, I knew I had to be her destination wedding photographer. I also want to thank Tara for coming along on this trip, and being a terrific second shooter, always finding unique angles, and helping me adjust posing. It’s always terrific to have her along on a shoot, or vice cersa.

The day started with a small private ceremony at Shark Fin Cover in Davenport, California. As a Tampa wedding photographer, I don’t get to see many scenic views from a higher vantage point, since it is so flat here. Naturally I was enthralled by the dramatic light from a partially cloud sky, and the cascading waves against jagged edged cliffs. Their 8 year old dog Oscar served as the best man, and Sarai’s brother Robert did the officiating. Our day ended in Napa Valley where we spent some time enjoying light refreshments and casual conversations. We took a short sort of soiree onto the vineyard grounds, which made for stunning backlit photos. Our day ended in downtown Napa at sunset. At first I was a bit confused as to why Sarai and Dennis did not want to stay in the rolling hills of Napa Valley for sunset. I was almost a little sad, because who wouldn’t want a exquisite California sunset over Napa Valley? Howeve I always listen to my clients desires, and the stunning vibrant murals of downtown Napa (behind a mattress store of all places!) made for a terrific backdrop.
