That’s what it felt like photographing for Emily and Chris. This storybook couple was such a pleasure to work with – and as you’ll see from their photos – their wedding truly was like something out of a fairy tale.
Their journey to me began with their need for a photographer who knew how to work with light. They were most concerned about capturing different skin tones. And, like many couples, they wanted a photographer who could tell their story in a vivid and engaging manner.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing a diverse range of people (it’s one of our values as a company), so Emily and Chris could see skin tones of all types in my portfolio. They could also see how I’ve worked with light (or the lack thereof), which they appreciated. Ultimately, it led them to choose me as their New Jersey wedding photographer at the Perona Farms Refinery.
Our journey together continued through the wedding day. My team and I spent time with both Emily and Chris during their getting-ready moments, of which Emily advised, “Plan more time to get ready!”
I captured the intimate moments between friends and family and the meaningful details like the gifts exchanged between the couple and their families.
The couple’s favorite moment was the first look. “I was really touched by how special that moment was,” Emily said. Some couples go back and forth about adding a first look, but the ones who do never regret it. It sets aside space for you two to be together before everything gets crazy, and you get beautiful photos to remember it by.
The other wedding-day experience Emily and Chris both loved were the sunset portraits – and I have to agree. I’m a sucker for a good sunset, and this July sky served us a beauty. When Emily told me she really wanted sunset photos, I assured her we’d make it happen. I truly care about what my couples cherish and will do whatever it takes to capture the memories they want most. Even if it means making sure I time everything perfectly. Because the result is worth it.
By the end of the night, the story that unfolded told of speeches, performances, dancing, painting, and sparkling exits. Our adventure together may be complete, but Emily and Chris’s story is still being written. I’m just glad I got to be a part of it.
Thank you, Emily and Chris!
