Terrain at Styer’s Wedding – Glen Mills, PA Wedding Photographer | Alison + Tim

Even though I am primarily a Wedding Photographer in New Jersey, I sometimes find myself photographing weddings in other states like Pennsylvania. Alison and I met in college, and became fast friends. We even shared a house as roommates with other college friends, about 10 years ago. So it was naturally an honor to photograph her and Tim’s Summer wedding, on a warm June day at Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills. Before I get into any of the fine print, I want to mention how excellent the staff at Terrain is. They made sure everything happened on time, and constantly made sure Alison, Tim, and all of their guests were both comfortable, and having a fantastic time. By the way she was absolutely glowing in her makeup by Michelle D Cellini!

A few clouds treated everyone to some shade during the ceremony officiated by Alison’s sister in law Caitlin (who did an amazing job!). No rain, but just enough shade for everyone to cool off, and of course for more pleasing looking photography! I would be remise if I also didn’t mention Alison and Tim’s Australian Collies, Nova and Vanna, who accompanied them for their portraits, and played a big part in their wedding ceremony as well. Throughout the day, Tim and Alison shared many sweet moments, and I was able to capture a bunch of natural laughs, and whimsical, silly interactions between the two of them.

Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills is a popular and unique wedding venue that was perfectly accented by wonderful wild flowers that were grown specifically for the wedding by florist Leslie Chiara. Not only was Alison’s bouquet beautiful, but Leslie really went above and beyond with the outdoor ceremony arch, wild flower dog collars, wedding party bouquets (and boutonnieres!), Alison’s flower crown, and flower petal confetti in paper cones – just flowed together perfectly. It is worth mentioning that Tim was also rocking a flower print tie with a tweed suit. Very sharp, and again – his style just fit the overall woodsy, and natural feel of their wedding day. Alison’s choice of dusty blues, sage greens, and off whites also matched the overall aesthetic of Terrain at Styer’s.

The reception looked like it was straight out of a boho chic or rustic wedding magazine, with everything flowing together perfectly. Long wooden family style tables were matched by farm chairs, more wildflowers intertwined with green garlands (go Leslie!), antique plates and pottery adorned the back wall’s built-in shelves, and just enough string lights hanging from the wooden slat ceiling to give a warm, welcoming vibe to the entire room.

DJ Tyler Chiara played some of Tim and Alison’s favorite tunes, including Band of Horses – No One is going to Love You More, their first dance song. Everyone danced and partied the night away while enjoying tasty food and treats by the in house terrain catering and bakery, including cookies, macaroons, and a smores station outside! Additional entertainment and sweets were provided in the form of a photobooth by Poser Photo Booth, and freshly churned ice cream by Little Baby’s Ice Cream. The night ended with a romantic and cheerful sparkler exit – I couldn’t have asked for a nicer day for two kind hearted, and long-time friends of mine.
