Core values are the principles that guide our actions. They aren’t just a set of cliché words but meaningful light posts that highlight how we operate.

If you’ve poked around our website, you may have picked up on some of our core values as a wedding photographer in New Jersey. We’d like to give you an even better understanding of these values and how they benefit you. 

Core Value #1: A good relationship is essential.

We’re interested in getting to know everyone we photograph. Truly. Past couples we’ve worked with have become friends, and we love that. We don’t expect to become best friends with everyone, but we like being more than just a vendor. 

We find out what’s important to you and what keeps you up at night. We want to hear about your plans and dreams. We’ll be spending a lot of time together, so it’s essential that we have an authentic connection—one where you feel comfortable and trust us to deliver on our promises. 

Knowing you and understanding your particular needs is also beneficial regarding logistical concerns. For example, it can prevent us from accidentally putting two people who dislike each other together in a group photo. #awkward 

Core Value #2: Treat everyone equally. 

Unfortunately, one of the big concerns we hear from people relates to issues around exclusivity. Someone might worry about their body image. Another person wonders if their photographer is okay with capturing an LGBTQ+ wedding. 

We once had a couple who let us know the groom’s brother was autistic and unable to verbalize much. For some photographers, this may have been an issue or caused discomfort. But because inclusivity is important to us personally and professionally, we had no problem capturing the meaningful moments the family shared. 

We care greatly about diversity, inclusivity, and human rights around here. We believe everyone deserves to have beautiful photos from their wedding. It’s why you don’t see many of the “same ole, same ole” weddings in our galleries. We make sure we showcase a variety of love stories. 

Whatever your race, gender, or body type – we’re here for you. As Barack Obama said, “When all Americans are treated as equal, no matter who they are or whom they love, we are all more free.”

Core Value #3: Never leave anyone stranded.

Although we can’t predict what the weather will do or what life has in store, we can guarantee you’ll feel taken care of no matter what happens on your wedding day. 

Some couples have anxiety around failed plans because of Covid or worry because a friend’s photographer bailed on them at the last minute. But because our core values are rooted in strong relationships (trust) and backup plans, you’ll always have coverage. 

And it won’t be some random photographer you’ve never met. Everyone on the MZP team is a talented professional and a reliable friend. And everyone is trained in the same style. So you’re sure to receive the timeless photos you’re looking forward to. 

Core Value #4: Provide a great experience.

We believe in providing a great experience before, during, and after the wedding – in front of the camera and behind the scenes.

This means ensuring you’re heard and that we fully understand your wants and needs throughout the process. In an ideal world, things would always go to plan, but if for some reason they don’t, we’re not going to disappear. We’ll make it right. 

If we see that we need extra time to turn photos around, we’re not going to stay quiet and hope you don’t ask questions. Someone will let you know.

Communication is key, and our work guarantee is absolute. We’re always open to working with you and want you to be happy with your experience and photos.
